🔴🟡 DOHERTY CUP FINAL, HERE WE COME!
Match Report – Doherty Cup Semi‑Final
We are delighted to share that Millburn PS have booked their place in this year’s Doherty Cup Final after a superb 2–0 victory over an extremely talented St John’s PS side at a sun‑soaked university this afternoon. The Millburn team delivered a performance full of determination, discipline and togetherness - qualities that have defined their season.
Millburn started brightly, creating a number of early chances, only to be denied by a resilient St John’s defence. Despite the pressure, the first half ended goalless, with both teams showing real quality.
St John’s came out strongly after the break and Millburn were grateful for an outstanding save from Newman, whose reflex stop kept the game level. That moment re-energised the Millburn lads, who lifted their tempo and deservedly broke the deadlock with 15 minutes remaining - a composed finish from Cahoon after a perfectly weighted through ball from Johnston.
With confidence flowing, Millburn continued to push forward and their efforts were rewarded when Martin unleashed a superb long‑range strike to double the lead and seal the victory.
To say we are proud of this group of players is an understatement. They have shown tremendous consistency, character and commitment throughout a long, successful season. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parents and guardians who turned out in great numbers to support the team - your encouragement means so much.
Bring on the final

This week our P1 pupils have been celebrating the wonderful women who help shape their world. We hope you enjoy this special video of our “Guess the Mummy” display — the children have worked so hard and loved sharing what makes their mums and the special grown‑ups in their lives so amazing.
To all the mums, grans, aunties, step‑mums, carers, and the incredible women who support, guide, and love our children every day — thank you. Thank you for the early mornings, the cuddles, the encouragement, the patience, and all the little (and big!) things you do that mean so much.
We appreciate you today and every day. 💕
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Millburn PS! 💕 (We do not own the rights to this music)
Our Primary 1 learners have absolutely loved exploring our newly developed outdoor learning zones! From cooking up imaginative recipes in the mud kitchen, to experimenting with loud and quiet sounds, they’ve been busy discovering, creating, and working together.
There’s been fantastic teamwork as the children worked to fill the outdoor bath with water, and plenty of creativity as they built a brilliant bear cave in the sand. Teddy Bear Town is now officially under construction, with some super builders getting properly stuck in! We’ve also enjoyed some out-of-this-world performances in our brand new Millburn Theatre.
A huge thank you to our Parents’ Association for their incredible funding, which has allowed us to purchase new resources to extend and enrich the children’s learning and development. We are also extremely grateful to the local businesses who kindly donated resources and gave their time to support us.
Our outdoor transformation is still a work in progress, with even more exciting developments coming over the next few weeks. Watch this space! 🌟

🚓 A Special Visit From Our Local Police! 🚓
Primary 1 and LSC 1 had an exciting morning as our local police officers visited school to support this week’s learning about emergency vehicles.
The children were thrilled to explore the police vans, try on different uniforms, and get a close look at the equipment officers use to help keep our community safe. They asked fantastic questions and showed so much curiosity and confidence throughout the visit.
A huge thank‑you to the officers for giving our pupils such a memorable, hands‑on learning experience. What a brilliant way to bring our topic to life! (We do not own the rights to this music)
✨ Exploring Our Community! ✨
Yesterday, Primary One and LSC1 had an amazing adventure visiting the bus and train station as part of our topic on transport. 🚍🚆
A huge thank you to Nigel and all the staff at Coleraine Station for giving us such a warm welcome! The children loved:
✅ Watching trains arrive and depart
✅ Getting real tickets and meeting the inspector
✅ Riding a double-decker bus through the bus wash (twice!) – cue lots of excited screams and laughter!
✅ Meeting Alfie’s dad, a real-life bus driver, and asking him brilliant questions while enjoying our snacks.
What an unforgettable experience for our curious little learners.

✨ A Fairytale Day to End Term One ✨
In a land not so far, under skies so bright,
Gathered princes and princesses, fairies in flight.
Brave knights stood tall, big bad wolves gave a grin,
As our magical day was ready to begin!
We stirred up sweet spells with chocolate delight,
Played games full of wonder from morning till night.
Then twirled at the ball in a shimmering hall,
Before feasting together at a grand banquet call.
What a magical ending to Term One’s quest,
With laughter and joy, we truly are blessed! 🌟
