Tervetuloa näyttelymme avajaisiin 5. huhtikuuta klo 16-21 ✨ Welcome to the opening of our exhibition on April 5th, 16-21 ✨ 📍The Mess Art Studio & Gallery, Luotsikatu 4 Helsinki FI: Mikko Kelloniemen ja Vilma Leinon ensimmäinen yhteisnäyttely Ihmisyyksiä on identiteettiä, ihmisyyden rakenteita ja elinympäristömme keinotekoisuutta tutkiva kokonaisuus. Näyttely on valokuvainstallaatio joka tarkastelee identiteetin häilyvää luonnetta ja yksilön emotionaalista suhdetta elinympäristöönsä. Molempien teokset keskittyvät omanlaiseensa omakuvaan ja tarkastelevat erilaisista näkökulmista yksilökeskeistä kokemuspohjaa, heijastellen subjektiivisen kokemuksen emotionaalisia tasoja vuoropuhelussa ympäröivän todellisuuden ajallisten kerrostumien kanssa. Kokonaisuudessa yhdistyvät toisistaan erilliset yksilölliset kokemukset joissa keinotekoisuus ja digitaalisuus kohtaavat ihmisyyden haurauden, kylmyys asettuu vastakkain lämmön kanssa. EN: The first joint exhibition by Mikko Kelloniemi and Vilma Leino, Humankind(of), is an exploration of identity, the structures of humanity, and the artificiality of our living environment. The exhibition is a photographic installation that examines the fleeting nature of identity and the individual’s emotional relationship with their surroundings. The works of both artists focus on self-portraiture in their own distinctive way, approaching the individual-centered experience from their personal standpoint. Their work reflects the emotional layers of subjective experience in dialogue with the temporal layers of the surrounding reality. The exhibition brings together separate individual experiences in which artificiality and digitality intersect with the fragility of being human, where coldness contrasts with warmth. After the opening, the exhibition will be open from April 9th to April 27th as follows: WED-FRI 2-7pm (closed 18.04.) SAT-SU 12-16 (closed 19-20.04.)

Tehtiin loppuvuodesta 2025 @mariankyyneleet yhtyeelle uusia kuvia. Yhtyeen musiikissa kaikuu tarinat rohkeudesta, herkkyydestä ja rauhan tunteesta. Biiseissä ja sanoituksissa on jotain todella kaunista joka onnistuu pysäyttämään mut hetkeen kerta toisensa jälkeen. Meidän yhteistyö on ollut mulle tosi merkityksellistä ja oon saanut kulkea matkalla mukana ensimmäisistä julkaisuista asti. Oiskohan se ollut ensimmäinen ep jolle kuvasin kannen joskus 2021 ja niihin aikoihin tehtiin myös musavideo. Uusiin kuviin suunniteltiin bändin tyyppien ja Veera Kolehmaisen kanssa tällainen installaatio-konsepti jota sitten rakennettiin porukalla ja taltioitiin koko prosessi. Ehkä vähän liiankin perusteellisesti :D Oon kyllä tosi fiiliksissä näistä kuvista. Lisää matskua tippuu tässä jossakin vaiheessa, pikkulinnut laulelee että uutta levyä on tekeillä ja mä oon jossain määrin myös menossa mukana. Tällaset pitkäjänteiset yhteistyöt ja hissukseen kehittyvät taiteelliset prosessit on valokuvaajana ja taiteilijana mun oman tekemisen ytimessä. On ollu upeeta seurata sivusta näin lahjakkaita ihmisiä ja musiikin kehitystä. Tosi kiinnostavaa nähdä mitä uus levy tuo tullessaan. Kiitos näistä ja tulevista vuosista Leena, Hannele ja Terho <3

Humankind(of) - 2025 An exploration of identity, the structures of humanity and the artificiality of our living environment. A photographic installation that examines the fleeting nature of identity and the individual´s emotional relationship with their surroundings. - Having worked individually on our own projects for some years, in 2024 me and @vauhtivilma had side by side exhibitions at @scopebln in Berlin. There was this feeling in the air, you know that first spark of creation. That dim calling, something sparkly luring you to an indistinct direction. We sang some karaoke and shared some ideas and the work kind of took its own path from there. During 2025 we built two exhibitions together in Finland. First one at The Mess gallery space in Helsinki and the second exhibition at Theatre Vanha Juko in Lahti, as part of their JukoArt program. - I truly enjoyed our first year of collaboration with Vilma, seeing how smoothly we worked together. How beautifully our colors and compositions aligned and how the pieces started speaking a common language. I really love this feeling of random ideas coming together like this. Let’s see if this year brings some more shows our way ✨ Thank you @vauhtivilma 💚 as well as @themesshki & @teatterivanhajuko

Some exhibition views from my recent solo show 'The Empty Green' at @scopebln in Berlin. Tomorrow is the last day and the time feels appropriate to share and savor these moments ✨ - The Empty Green is a multidisciplinary body of work observing humanity inside digital transformation. Studying the often-absurd nature of this ongoing process, this exhibition is a first attempt to more closely examine the complexity of the contemporary self, deconstructing a vast horizon into smaller points of focus. Looking at the shift happening around us and focusing on identity, memory, self-image and subjectivity, I observe my personal and rather complicated relation to the digital world. The exhibition is a multimedia installation composed mainly of photography and video. A study of the self, consisting of different approaches to identify myself in relation to surrounding realities.
