“Join the resistance, young Jedi, break capitalism – watch the federation die.”
Still reflecting about the energy
@theparamountla had this past Friday. A big thank you to all the staff, security, and sound engineers for providing a safe space. So good to see
@lyn.mmg @jbayani (thanks for grabbing my tote bag!)
@misseseel @prophiphop @jedi_lbc1ty @sal_paradyse and hella homies!
@faithsantilla and
@fatgums set the tone for the night with such powerful words.
@theneighborhoodkidsmusic (Do not sleep on ‘em!) for setting the stage on fire! And the
@beatrockmusic chairman himself,
@bambudepistola and
@djphatrick for reminding us to organize together as a community.

It’s for sure a TLDR situation, but I’ll document and share with y’all. I want to say 2003, I joined the joint Filipino clubs, Kasama x Gimmik. Mt. Sac and Cal Poly Pomona joined forces and that was my introduction to community building. Went to Friendship Games and saw The Native Guns. The rest is history. Woke up like I was a Sleeper Cell. I was never exposed to Philippine history, let alone the Palestinian occupation so I took it to myself to learn more. Fast forward, I put my bro
@eratheoutlaw27 on to Bam, in turn he put me on to punk. We went to a Bam show in ‘08 between “I Scream Bars For The Children” and “Exact Change” Rich said to me, “Dude it would be dope if you get to open for Bam one time” 16 years later and a handful of Beatrock shows later, my sis and Beatrock tour manager
@sheppi.soluna made that happen. Thank you for putting me on, Sheppi!
