Rollerblading videos, Road to Nowhere, The Meantime directed by Brandon Negrete plus Face the Music produced by Radius Media had a huge impact and signed a changed in rollerblading. It was a pivotal time, there were new approaches to staking, fresh styles of skating and new ideas being pushed forward. I remember thinking it felt like there was more freedom for expression and the skaters did it all with so much conviction it was infectious. A lot of the names who were the driving forces behind this were riding roces m12s or soon would be. It was a bit of a revival for Roces and specifically the m12, the skate was now ufs, had a great buckle and better cuff but was essentially the same shell. It was the skaters making it cool. But also the skate was functional. We take a look back into the history of the M12, the high and lows of Roces, pivotal moments in the skates journey and question if there is any real need for a new skate. #rollerblading #roces
