IT'S OFFICIAL! Matthew Lillard (Scream, Five Night at Freddy's) has joined the cast of Mike Flanagan's upcoming TV Series CARRIE, based on the Stephen King novel, for Amazon Studios. The role he will be taking remains undisclosed. On May, 1 Deadline reported that Lillard was in talks to join the cast of the series following the confirmation of the first actor announced on the show (Siena Agudong). Now, the news confirmation was given by Lillard himself in an interview to @comicbook , in which the actor hints at the new iterations and modern twists Mike Flanagan has been adding to this Stephen King classic from the 1970s: "The exciting thing for me here is that he crafted an idea based around what we’re experiencing right now in the world, and shared that with Stephen King, and then Stephen King was like, ‘Oh, that’s a great idea [...] So, it’s Stephen King’s first published book, it has gone through all these iterations. I think the exciting thing here is that Mike has found a way to make it relevant right now, and I think that it speaks to what we’re all experiencing, and so I think that that’s going to make a difference.” Filming is scheduled to begin next month. This will be the second actor-director collaboration between Matthew Lillard and Mike Flanagan. The actor will appear in the filmmaker's THE LIFE OF CHUCK releasing in theaters next month and also based on a Stephen King story.
