What an innings. Still living independently in his own home on his 96th birthday. Today he slipped away peacefully. Father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Enjoying my birthday week in our favourite place - La Reserve 1785 - in Pererenan, Bali.
Started my day with a 6am surf at Old Man’s, my favourite break here. Was feeling a bit like an old man too! Spared a moment to be grateful for this wonderful life and to remember a few mates that are no longer with us. Inspire me to keep turning up in life.
I also want to honour a very special man that was instrumental in my career. I grew up in a house where there was no discussion about career plans. I suppose my dad, a career army guy, never really understood anything other than the military and my mum was a librarian so the teaching profession was her lane. I was left to try to work it out on my own.
My neighbour at the time John Nigel-Brownlee could perhaps see a spark and gave me my first job in the business world as a trainer computer programmer at Bonaire. From there I was off. So a big thanks to John.
How good is life! 🙏
Always a great time catching up with this legend, John Fitzgerald. Lots of laughs and old tennis stories that we have rehashed a million times. Almost 50 years of friendship from our school days. Here’s to many more….

Congratulations to this legend @mick_1777 on completing the gruelling UTA100 in the blue mountains yesterday. A 100km race over very challenging terrain and all done in under 14 hours to earn a silver medal at his first attempt.
But Mick isn’t just a winner for completing the race he’s a winner in life. He’s faced down every major challenge thrown at him over the last 12 months and beaten them and he’s maintained his passion and enthusiasm for life when others would have crumbled. #unbreakable.
