Banu left us on June 14th, after 10 beautiful years of life, a week before the summer solstice, and during pride month.
Some of you were able to meet Ozzy, her partner, and witnessed the beautiful love they shared. For the second half of Banu’s life, it was just us two, and we developed a deep and unique bond. She became my best friend, my baby, my soulmate. She was also very trusting of friends and family, and would have wanted to say goodbye to everyone she met. You were part of her flock, and I know she was grateful for your love and presence.
I’ll never forget her obsession with the oat milk container, how she always wanted to drink out of my water glass, asked for a shower every time I did the dishes, flew to me and just sat with me when I was sad, how she pressed her cere up against my lip to give me a kiss, her obsession with computers and phones: one time she somehow made AI art while licking my dad’s phone screen (the prompt was “a beautiful magical forest”). She was so full of energy, curiosity, empathy and love. Such a beautiful person, in such a tiny body.
Banu was with me through some difficult times and big life transitions. She taught me to think of life in moments, to wake up every morning and be thankful for each day, to stay curious, to be gentle with myself. And I’ll carry those lessons with me forever. She’s now with Ozzy and the two can fly together like the used to do everyday. Fly in peace my beautiful gay birdies 🌈 I love you forever ❤️
These last few years have been a big learning experience for me, both personally and professionally. If I've been a bit absent here, it's because I've been stuck in my computer, working on some amazing projects 🎨🤯💻.
Now I'm onto my next adventure: learning how to balance all of my passions (design + art) and also saying hi to friends ✌️.

A wholesome family retreat!!!Last week I got to spend a few days in the Catskills with a group of beautiful and talented creatives who I get to work with everyday. Remote working can be tough sometimes, so I’m so thankful for moments like these. Felt like a school camping trip! ❤️🤗🌲🔥🚌
