The most common question I get is, "When did you get into makeup?" Here's the answer! Growing up, I took Halloween very seriously. Candy is currency, and I saved mine. Just as exciting was dressing up! I love superheroes, and obviously, that was my go-to costume. I remember my mom drawing on a goatee so I could be Tony Stark, and from there, it got more complicated. It wasn't until senior year of high school that I decided to get crazy and try special effects for the first time! Little did I know that would be the start of a lifelong passion! Since then, I have taken classes to learn stage/theatre makeup, film makeup, special effects, and even how to work with wigs and hair! My passion is special effects and film makeup, and I hope to have many opportunities to work on movies! I'm grateful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to grow my talent, as well as to my family, for continuing support. Makeup has brought so much joy in my life, and I look forward to sharing my projects with all of you!

I'm SUPER late with this one, but last month, I had the opportunity to do special effects, hair, and makeup for "Turbulent Love"! Shoutout to everyone who made it possible and for bringing me on and trusting me and my skills! - HUGE shoutout to the amazing cast and crew of this production. It sounds crazy, but I miss the long days and the late nights with this group. Honestly, some of the kindest, most genuine, down to Earth people I've ever met. - Here's some behind the scenes photos, including my favorite hair and makeup looks, of course! - There's such a long story behind this project and the events leading up to me working on it. However, that is a story for another day. Suffice to say, I am grateful to those who have supported me in this journey, and especially to God, who I truly believe has led me through this journey. This project holds such a special place in my heart for many reasons, but especially because of those who worked on it! - These are some of the most passionate people I've ever met, so I'm gonna yap about them in the comments.

I've been excited for this one! This was done for an assignment to create a villain of my own design. Although I would do things differently, I am extremely happy with how this turned out! My favorite part was sculpting and painting the horns, as well as applying the nose prosthetic! Huge shoutout to @__davisgibb__ for being my model. I chose him specifically for this project. No one else came to mind as I was designing, I'm grateful he was willing to help bring my vision to life. The design process is one that I've come to love. From concept to inspiration to designing and finally executing, I find so much fulfillment and joy in each step. At first, I didn't understand the importance or necessity, but the more projects I work on, the more I realize how crucial each step is. At the end of a project, when I can finally step back and take it in, it is so rewarding to watch my concepts and ideas come to life. There are always three makeup looks: the one I design, the one I do, and the one I wish I did. Looking back, there are always ways that I can see to improve. It's sometimes difficult to stomach the fact that I only get one shot at a particular look. Who knows if I'll get the chance to replicate it. However, what I learned from each project carries over to the next, making my work that much better!

Here's what I did over the weekend! Every semester, Brigham Young University has a "Mass Casualty Incident" simulation. This is where a mass casualty event, in this case a building explosion, is simulated to train EMTs and nurses on how to most effectively respond to and help victims of the incident. I had the opportunity to make prosthetics over several weeks, as well as apply makeup on the day of the event. Yes, everything you see was done by me! Here's some photos and videos of the makeup looks, as well as some behind the scenes of the process! I'm excited to do work on "Disaster Day" again, and thank you to all of the amazing makeup artists, assistants, and actors who made it all possible! Special shoutout to all the amazing EMTs I met and worked with, so grateful for them and all they do!
