The thing about small mountain towns is they only survive if people keep choosing them.
Idaho Springs has always been more than just a stop on I 70. It’s history, local businesses, old buildings with stories, and a community trying to keep a mountain town alive while the world changes around it. The new @mightyargo Cable Car is a big change for our little town and yeah, growth always comes with some growing pains. But it’s also bringing something really important here. Jobs, tourism, new energy, investment into the town, and more reasons for people to actually stop in Idaho Springs instead of driving past it.
And honestly? It’s already pretty incredible. With the new 8 bike gondolas for riders, plus the Golden Gondola featuring incredible glass bottom views, access to the Virginia Canyon bike and hiking trails, the scenic overlook selfie spot, and upcoming restaurants, bars, and music spaces, this feels like such a huge moment for our little mountain town.

The more local riders we have, the better prepared we will be for Opening Day.

Thursday, May 7 for an early ride on the Argo Cable Car.
This is a chance for our local community to experience the ride first and help our team prepare before we officially open to the public on Saturday.

Locals Day is set for May 7 — and we can’t wait to welcome you.
On May 7, Clear Creek County residents will be invited to ride for free as we celebrate our community.
After that date, free rides will continue for Idaho Springs residents only.
We will have 400 tickets available for Locals Day, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
