P.S. the post with the yellow gradient fabric a few months ago was the night before my last interview, and I wanted to post that as a memento for myself, feeling content and proud of myself to have been able to even bring myself to this point in the first place.

Another year, and we’ve doubled. Elated that I can share my work with all of you and I think k owe this post to you. It’s a “self portrait” and my first post about me with me in it.
I’m Dev and the word “mieto” is a word that I found cool but never found a meaning of (if you find something, let me know xD). The last time I checked, it was the Spanish derivative of a word that meant “everything and nothing at the same time” which sums up my designs and style quite appropriately. I started this account on April 23, 2020 as my new quarantine skill after which it turned into my own tamagotchi that I cared for and watched it grow into something I can’t be without now. This account has helped me get confidence in my style and the pieces I conceive and has helped me meet some of the most interesting and creatively furled people (you know who you are) and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The feedback, DMs and comments are always therapeutic so let’s not change that, keep them coming.
It’s taken us 20 months to get to 500, let’s go for the next 500 in half, yeah?

1. The composition is my favorite part about this. I had seen a picture of a Ferrari Spider captured top down with lights that had a smooth fall off and heightened the glossiness of the paint. I didn’t have a ferrari spider on hand, so I wanted to capture a spider in the same way that car was in that photo. This is a work in progress, but I like where the idea is at.
2. I have been listening to the new Ethel Cain album on repeat and wanted to treat the image like it was an alt album cover. That’s all lol.

‘Let’s circle back’ is an animated short film where I got to explore my love for film. It follows a protagonist questioning how much he is willing to sacrifice in the pursuit of more. It made me test and retest my love for blender and rediscover a whole new way of using a software I thought I knew inside out.
While I’m not releasing the film yet, I wanted to share some of my favourite stills from it that I’m excited about! This has been a relatively quick turn around (2 weeks end to end) and has been a labor of love I got to check off my bucket list!
In (Square) Waves
How can I stop listening to the new @jamie___xx album? (Cannot get myself to hit pause)
Each quadrant represent the different types of fundamental sound waves – sine, square, triangle and sawtooth. The bulge gave it a sense of drama and reminded me of the album art which reminds me of tv static.
Made this after listening to the album on loop for 3 days - pro tip: ‘Breather’ is a great BPM to start a run on a semi fast pace while staying comfortable!

Regarding ‘The Golden Record’ I feel like an oblong organic shape would be a more natural shape to etch the symbols into to draw attention from and communicate with alien civilizations - or maybe this is just a golden egg with some beautiful and efficient iconography, rotating :)
