REIMAGINING NIGERIA 2026
The Ndibe River originates from the Cameroon Mountains and serves as a natural boundary between Afikpo and Ugep in Cross River State. The river forms part of the larger Cross River Basin, one of the region’s most significant drainage systems.
In January, the Federal Government commenced the construction of a bridge linking both communities. The project is aimed at connecting Afikpo to the Calabar Coastal Highway, thereby improving transportation, promoting trade and tourism, and strengthening accessibility between West and Central Africa.
As of March 2026, ₦3 billion has been approved for the project, marking a major step toward regional connectivity and economic development.

THE SNAKE CHARMERS, 2025
Between Fear and Wonder
In the heart of Uke, Central Nigeria, a snake rises — not to music alone, but to movement, belief, and survival. Snake charmers occupy a delicate space between fear and wonder, where tradition meets spectacle.
Often inheriting the practice through generations, these charmers learn to handle danger with calm, ritual, and restraint. What appears mystical to the audience is rooted in belief, experience, and necessity.
As wildlife laws tighten and urbanisation steadily advances, snake charmers are pushed further to society’s edges, their histories quietly fading. Yet some persist — not only for income, but for identity.
Across West Africa, from Cotonou to northern Benin, Mali, and Burkina Faso, snake charming remains intertwined with spiritual practices such as Vodun. Here, it survives as both performance and heritage.

THE ASO ROCK AND ITS ENVIRONS.
Aso Rock is a towering granite monolith in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, and one of the most powerful natural symbols in the nation’s landscape. Rising about 400 meters above sea level, it dominates the skyline and defines the physical and symbolic identity of the Federal Capital Territory.
The name “Aso” comes from the Gwari (Gbagyi) language of the indigenous people of the FCT and means “victory.” This meaning deepens the rock’s symbolism — not just as a geological formation, but as a cultural and spiritual emblem of strength, endurance, and triumph.
At its base lies Nigeria’s core institutions of power, including Aso Villa, the National Assembly of Nigeria, and the Supreme Court of Nigeria, reinforcing Aso Rock as a visual metaphor for permanence, authority, and continuity.
More than a landmark, Aso Rock stands as a meeting point between nature, culture, and power — a silent witness to history, governance, and the evolving identity of Nigeria. GOD BLESS NIGERIA!

The Cassava Women of Sheda .
It's called Fufu, others call it Akpu . Whichever the name , Akpu is a common delicacy made from Cassava and is most in the South Eastern part of Nigeria .
Over the years a lot of women from most tribes in Nigeria have settled in Sheda Galadima (located between Lokoja and Abuja expressway) mastering the art of Cassava food processing and are fending for themselves and also supporting their husbands too.
I admire their strength and zeal ,that's why I call them the Unsung Heroes.

The Lower Usuma Dam is 49m deep. It's sources of water are from the Gurara waterfall in Niger state, Usuma river in Nassarawa and river Gidna in Kaduna state .
Usuma Dam was once a perfect place for fishing, picnics , boat rides etc but it isn't open to the public like it was years ago except with a permit.
Nevertheless, Lower Usuma is a beautiful place and has uncovered potential.
God Bless Nigeria.

RUGAN KATAMPE, 2024 ; WHERE TIME STOOD STILL These group of fulani's settled here over 100 —120 years ago when there was little or no civilization. They lament the possibility of being displaced in the nearest future. Ruga has a population of approximately 200 people including children with most men as peasant farmers or cattle herders . Although surrounded by civilization, they are far behind in terms of development as they have no access to electricity, schools, portable water and even bank accounts. 95 percent of Ruga occupants cannot speak or understand English making communication a bit difficult.

What are cool facts about waterfalls?
Waterfalls are often judged by which are the tallest or have the largest volume of water, but there's so much more about them to know. They can make cliffs, produce a dozen different kinds of ice, and have tiny fishes crawling .

The history of Agbokim Waterfalls dates back to the early 90’s when a hunter named Ntankum made the discovery of the waterfall. He later brought his family members to reside around the waterfall area. Over the years, members of the Agbokim community have worked collectively to ensure that they develop this place. Due to the fact that the source of the water is from the remains of plants, they’ve encouraged afforestation. The Afforestation also helps to increase the volume of water.
