Double #memademay today! Core bias skirt from @somanualstudio and my trusty #SophieHood from @petiteknit โจ Don't look too closely, everything is covered in cat hair ๐
It's been stormy but the sun is on the horizon ๐ป

Another gingham dress for #memademay ๐ I spent Saturday at the vintage market in Delft, so blue seemed to fit!
This is another Anabelle dress, but this time I kept the skirt and ruffle ๐ชก

Gathered gingham skirt for #memademay day 7 because I love anything yarn dyed and live in swishy skirts๐
Three gathered rectangles, each 2x the one before with elastic, plus pockets of course! Final slide is @kamauj868 acting like I am heading off to the war when we split up for errands ๐ซก

#memademay day 3! We got exactly 3 days of summer weather this week and it was glorious ๐
This is my Anabelle dress by @patternsbypatterncos which is one of my favorite dress patterns. I have a process video in an earlier post from sometime ago, and this is one I wear on heavy rotation in the summer. I changed the skirt to a gathered one with 2 tiers, and made tie straps! Not pictured is the overflowing shopping cart with bbq items, because we never waste a sunny day.

For #memademay day 2, my self drafted cotton skirt and the @patternsbypatterncos Paulette blouse (which is a free pattern!!โจ) I omitted the ruffle and lengthened it to have a deep hem (also in cotton). Both of these were wearable toiles. The scarf is the @castawayyarnshop simple triangle scarf.
I wear these on repeat so if you see me in them multiple times, look away, that's my business ๐

Happy #memademay!!!!
I have absolutely loved Spring in Rotterdam ๐
This is the @castawayyarnshop easiest triangle scarf in garter stitch. It was a really relaxing project, and I used 100g (2 skeins) of DK merino wool on 4mm needles. No counting! No tracking! Just mindless increases and knitting! It was perfect.

A self drafted skirt in white cotton. I've been seeing the pintuck petticoat vibe and loving it, so of course I had to make one. A lot of math was involved to get the tucks properly arranged but it all came together ๐
The blouse is cotton voile from Madewell, I got it years ago for $0.07 (!!!!) and the boots are thrifted.
Oh, and I promptly sat on something pink whilst on the skirt's maiden voyage ๐ซฉ luckily, the stain came out ๐ค

Babushka was out and spent the sunny Saturday taking long walks and rifling through other people's old stuff.
I knitted this bonnet in a cherry red wool left over from my #sophiescarf that I'm also wearing here! Gotta keep these immigrant ears warm, they've never gotten used to the wind.

Dead inside but I'm still knitting ๐งถ
Here's my version of the #SophieHood by @petiteknit in the wrong yarn weight on too small needles. Did some math (yuck) and I was able to do it in a DK weight yarn on 4mm needles!
The skirt is also one of my own makes: a bias cut maxi in viscose twill. Pretty warm and I've been wearing it a lot this winter. I can't remember the last time I wore jeans and honestly I feel great about it.
The #sophiescarf!! I made this scarf with the sole purpose of looking like a Victorian street urchin at Christmastime ๐ฉ I also unravelled it four times before it looked anything remotely scarf-like, but as a sewist and an illustrator, starting over means nothing to me at this point ๐คฃ at least with knitting you can reuse the materials!
Thank you to my knitting bestie @hildurpetursdottir who has been my long distance knitting teacher, and didn't laugh when I proudly showed her something that looked like a raccoon had crawled into a box of yarn ๐งถ
I used icelandic merino wool from the mulesing free brand Kambgarn.

Some quilted cushions to use up my Christmas fabric scraps! This winter I've been making a lot of jam, pumpkin pies and plum tortes. I'm also learning how to knit! My hands are a mess ๐ซ Everything I love is giving me carpal tunnel, help ๐ซณ๐ฝ
Happy December!! My furry children love to hang out under my tree so this year I made them a quilted tree skirt. It's a self drafted pattern, with some sawtooth star blocks and handmade bias binding. I doubled up the batting to make it extra cushy for them, and added ties for no real reason other than the fact that Georgie loves to chew them. ๐โโฌ They love to hang out under there and play! The bottom of our tree is full of ornaments they can play with, including a dozen jingle bells ๐ My tree has also been up since the week after Halloween ๐
