TONIGHT 🪩 BASTET sends us deep into midnight for MIDNIGHT FM’S 2-YEAR ANNIVERSARY at @transmission.dc 🎉🖤 Bastet’s live set is coarse-grained and atmospheric, developing a slow-burning, hypnotic groove. Each performance searches for transcendental moments, meditations on texture and minimalism that unfold gradually over time. In recent years she has turned toward DJing, channeling that same immersive sound and mood into her sets. She has played parties and venues such as Vague Output, Hot Mass, Trans-Pecos, and H0L0, among others. She is also part of the organizing team behind Unfold, a hypnotic focused party series in Baltimore that has been cultivating deep, immersive dancefloor experiences for several years. Bastet joins a stacked lineup this evening featuring @mikeservito @djharam @marta_banaszek associate.dj @stos313 and @kivaverse909 Join us for Midnight FM’s 2-Year Anniversary tonight at Transmission - Tickets on Shotgun and RA. SATURDAY - We are honored to have DJ HARAM at @transmission.dc to SLAY the night for Midnight FM’s TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY. In case you didn't know, all billionaires are sociopaths. This fact has made me exceptionally angst lately, and is reflected in my new mix which you can hear here: /midnightfm/stos-all-billionaires-are On top of that, since my last mix we lost two great comrades to whom this mix is dedicated. Ali X...Douglas McCarthy... ¡PRESENTE!

We're beyond excited to have the pioneer @dj_stingray_313 on the decks tonight in DC! You can't talk about the history of techno without mentioning his name. And he continues to tirelessly innovate and captivate listeners worldwide! DJ STINGRAY 313 will be playing alongside @carlossouffront @femanyst @etherpleaser @_xav.music & @kivaverse909 as part of a special collaboration w/ @midnightfmdc taking up both floors of @transmission.dc ! ⛓️‍💥ticket link in the bio⛓️‍💥 📖 "DJ Stingray 313 is an eminent pioneer in the electronic music world. His musical catalog covers themes and concepts regarding modern science, genetics, healthcare, technology and their effects on the human condition. His earliest productions appeared in 1987 as a collaboration with Lou Robinson (of Scan 7) under the group name Nasa with “Time To Party” and “Cant Stop Now”. Stingray’s solo productions appeared later under the Urban Tribe moniker on Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications label (“Covert Action”). 1998’s debut of “The Collapse Of Modern Culture” on James Lavelle’s Mo’Wax label turned Urban Tribe into a collaborative effort, adding Carl Craig, Anthony “Shake” Shakir and Moodymann to the group. His most notable connection, however, is through the iconic electro outfit of James Stinson and Gerald Donald aka Drexciya. As Mystic Tribe A.I., Stingray’s early credit was on Stinson’s (as The Other People Place) “Sunday Night Live at the Laptop Cafe” 12” via Clone Records. Further meetings with the duo earned him the name “Drexciyan DJ Stingray”, subsequently becoming Stinson and Donald’s official touring DJ. Donning his emblematic balaclava, his cyborg-like DJ sets continue to leave audiences captivated globally for decades." - J. Howard #blacktechnomatters

Get ready for a journey this Friday Feb 27 with @carlossouffront on the decks at @transmission.dc ! It's always a treat to be in the presence of this unique selector whose vast taste and knowledge of music is a wonder to experience. CARLOS SOUFFRONT will be playing alongside @dj_stingray_313 @femanyst @etherpleaser @_xav.music & @kivaverse909 as part of a special collaboration w/ @midnightfmdc taking up both floors of @transmission.dc ⛓️‍💥ticket link in the bio⛓️‍💥 📖 Carlos Souffront is a music gourmet, a true DJ's DJ. His taste is rich and vast and he has the unique ability to create deeply rhythmic narratives that offer unexpected and exotic spices. He mastered his deep mixing skills with a cassette deck and a belt drive turntable in his father's den in Troy, home of contemporaries such as Mike Servito, Tadd Mullinex and Matt Dear. Equally entrenched in indie rock, post punk, experimental music, ambient, rock, house, and techno, Carlos was always a man of many worlds - with an ability to traverse though them with an unique imagination. There is a mood to his search within sound, something that is heavy, deep yet gritty. Like many Caribbean transplants that ends up in northern colder climates, he wonders where our rhythmic complexity is. For him it is effortless and endlessly surprising to the listener. Carlos is an important component of the Interdimensional Transmissions parties, bringing a loose yet tight moody deepness and an ever unexpected edge. At the original No Way Back party, he demanded truth in advertising, pushing us to and then past the 12 hour mark. He has participated in the studio with Ectomorph, and also performed alongside some of their live performances. It is all too rare to find someone within the electronic music spectrum that can be called an original, that you can only really explain to someone who experienced them on the dance floor, usually just by saying "that's so" and saying their name. Carlos is one of those rarities. (bio by BMG) 📸 @sezepix #blacktechnomatters
