Happy 40th Birthday to my big sis, Mrs. Bukola Ayodele Yelotan.
Having you in my life has been one of my greatest blessings. I have always called you my second Mum, and in every sense, you have truly been that to me.
From the very beginning, you have shown up for me in ways I will never take for granted. You bought me my first phone, stood proudly at every one of my graduations, and dressed me when I won Most Beautiful Girl in high school at St. Augustine’s College.
You were there even in moments that may have seemed small to others, but meant everything to me. Even now, you still want to buy me everything 😂
You have supported every decision I have made. You call me every single day and still make sure I share my live location whenever I travel. If I cannot reach Mum, you are always there.
I still remember one of the hardest moments during my PhD, when I felt completely overwhelmed and told you I could not do it. You simply said, “Ayomide, have you forgotten who you are?”
I cried, and then I remembered.
I have never been someone who gives up on what she starts. I finished it, and I excelled.
You have such a special way of reminding people of their strength without saying too much, and that is a rare gift.
Despite the years between us, you have always made each of us feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. Not everyone has that grace.
I pray that the Lord continues to prosper you, bless you, and multiply your years. May His light always shine upon you, and may the oil upon your head never run dry.
