Middle James (DJ Set):
Middle James is the collaborative project of multi-instrumentalists Connor James Mackenzie and Sam James Weeks. Emerging from Eora’s underground, the duo have quietly been slipping deep, groove-led house into ears and onto dance floors alike. Their DJ and live sets move fluidly between jazz-infused house, techno and leftfield electronic - always searching for the next sweet spot.
Recent performances have seen Middle James bring their sound to warehouse spaces, clubs and festival stages across Australia and New Zealand. Highlights include a NYE set at Lost Paradise, appearances at Secret Valley, Skydance, Weaselstock and Biophilia, an ongoing residency at Chinese Laundry, opening for Chez Damier at Carousel and their own Jazz Doof warehouse parties, hosting artists such as Close Counters and GODTET.
Julien Mier (DJ Set):
Julien Mier is a Dutch-French multi instrumentalist, sound designer and composer born and raised in the Netherlands. Utilising found sounds and fragments of samples from anything like broken toys, thrown out objects on the streets and interesting sound sources, his music is a waterfall of melodic, textural and rhythmic stories.
He has performed at major events such as Lost Paradise and supported Rival Consoles at City Recital Hall earlier this year. In his DJ sets, he explores the borders of genres somewhere between sharp edged breaks, techno, botanical bass and dubbed out melodic electronica.
Melo:
Melody, of Argentine origin and Korean heritage, is a dedicated collector and selector. Under the name Melo, she brings a deep and intuitive understanding of atmosphere and space. With a background as a chef, she approaches music with the same focus on balance, texture and timing - curating sounds that elevate the moment without imposing on it.
Her sets draw from a broad palette of genres, shaped by years of exploration and a genuine love of music. Whether in intimate gatherings or late-night dancefloors, Melo builds immersive sonic landscapes, always guided by sensitivity and deep listening, never by formula.
