RUAPARA by Jess Nicholson (Waitaha, Kāti Māmoe, Kāi Tahu, Pākehā) combines local clay with salvaged glass and ceramic shards collected from Whaka Oho Rahi Broad Bay. The forms, pulled from the night sky, encourage us to reflect on our habits of consumption, consider what we leave behind, and how these things change the whenua for those who come after us.Jess was the Caselberg Trust’s 2025 Creative Connections artist in residence.The show runs until the 8th of March.@j___nicholson @caselbergtrust

Dropped off a bunch of pieces at @middenstudio i tēnei rā to accompany the installation we've put up on the wall.The installation opens on Saturday - it's a collection of work made during and since my @caselbergtrust residency last year. The works on the wall are made with local clay, as well as salvaged glass and ceramic collected from the harbour. It's so special to be able to share these pieces right next to their place of origin, in a space that celebrates the significance of the bits and pieces we leave behind that change the whenua for all those who follow us.See u on Saturday

A new collection of necklaces and collars have arrived from @violet.faigan.gardener . Violet is an extraordinary artist, gardener and long time collector of vintage clothing and objects. These works are pieced together from increasingly scarce vintage textiles, jewellery, and haberdashery and could only come from her home and hands. Made in Ōtepoti.Photographed here with clothing by @being.clothes and @karena.carran
