Last day of 2025, it was t-shirt weather at the crag. A good end to a year full of a fair amount of climbing. Hopefully once the rain stops this year will be just as good. Maybe even better?

Scenes from the desert last year: The Grand Canyon. Far from the only but a well known and significant part of the beautiful landscapes we saw while crossing Arizona. We stayed on the south rim three or four nights waiting out a storm before walking down, across and back up to the other side over two further days. Of all the canyons we crossed on this trail this one was fairly grand.

Scenes from the desert last year: The People. I went to the US on my own but I wasn’t alone on the trail. I knew I would meet others hiking too but didn’t realise there would be so many wonderful people about. Here are just a few of the many lovely humans I hiked with.

Scenes from the desert last year: 🌵 I hiked the 800 miles from Mexico to Utah along the Arizona trail. Quite the adventure, I haven’t written much or shared many photos from the trip yet, too much time thinking about what I want to do with them, another book maybe? I’m not sure.
