The technique I show is a DIY home version for us who don’t have access to machines to make links . But this is more than enough for what we need! Introducing a drop-in dual brushed motor dig system for the scx24 platform. Hey everyone 👋. Wanted to make a formal introduction post for the universal dig system[mu24] we’ve been R&Ding for the past couple months . So…what is a “dig”? 🤔 In short, a dig feature allows you to disconnect and “lock” the rear axle while sending power to the front axle, creating a pivot along the rear axle . In theory , this allows extremely tight turning radius’, it can help you reposition your crawl line, you can use the rear axle as a brake on steep declines, etc. There’s quite a few uses for a dig! —————mu24————— The mu24 is a 2s/3s dual brushed motor dig system utilizing high quality electronics offered at an affordable price. It’s an all-inclusive system that replaces your current motor/transmission/ESC combo & bolts directly to a stock-style skid plate. The mu24 works with one motor connected directly to the front axle via driveshaft, and one motor connected to the rear axle , both packaged in a 3d printed PLA+ rigged housing. Each motor has a small gear reduction box attached, greatly increasing the torque available to each axle. With some channel mixing on your 3+ch radio[required], you’ll be able to “disconnect” the rear axle with a programmed switch/button, giving you a selectable dig feature [we offer help through this whole process; that comes with every purchase]. Utilizing the highest quality components, we chose an ESC from outside the RC crawler market [ $50 ESC for nano battle bots] to provide power and extremely modular throttle control to the motors. We sourced the highest amp rated motor’s online after countless amounts of testing. NSDRC BEC’s are wired up to power your servo’s/accessories, with your choice of a 7.4v or 8.4v BEC. Every kit comes completely wired/tested , with labels to tell you which plug goes to which channel. The mu24 will bolt to stock style scx24 skid plates, with little to no modification needed . From the Taco King Snake kit from @dbrcchassisdynamics , this , the scx30 kit he just released . Everything we’ve gotten from him has been nothing short of amazing . Go grab you a kit ! Thanks @terrova33 🍻. The 17xx gold Injora motor plus our MU32 ESC and Injora 40.1:1 gears should be good enough for these beefy @meusracing ISO axles 🐌. Beefy Meus ME-12x servo to turn wheels & @palmbeachbots 3s 180mah will give us 90 second run times 🤣🥲. Little recap of our trip to Northern California to hang out with @ballzrc_ for his Home Run Derby Event 😎. Had a ton of fun meeting everyone there ! Thanks to everybody who made us feel welcomed .
