As with all Micron Audio releases, QUASAR reveals a deep appreciation of scientific discovery and knowledge. Whilst avoiding retro-futuristic cliché, the imaginative abstract story telling genre of electro is perfectly represented in this collection, in which 6SISS yet again emits his own densely packed work to emanate across the universe with a radiant energy.

Techno is often understood as a dubbing of the Detroit assembly lines, analogously BOTS is supposed to sound like artificial intelligence. Consequently, the buzzwords of the digital revolution are explored in the titles of the tracks. It is not only thanks to this parable that the record fits wonderfully into the sci-fi-inspired catalog of the label run by DJ Stingray 313. Veteran 6SISS weaves the futuristic scraps of sound tightly together, placing pauses at just the right moment to give the brute overdriven percussion even more punch. Whether AI sounds like that remains to be seen. By the way, the first musical confrontations with factory work were not techno, but workers' songs. So maybe the machines are singing about solidarity and liberation here?

Released on 12” record and, more fittingly, digital, BOTS returns electro to its roots in envisioning the future whilst freeing itself from the paradigm of the genre’s past to create a soundtrack of the AI world; a view beyond the algorithm.

Much as early electro was driven by the twin influence of the rhythm of the factories of Detroit and a bold imagining of life beyond (or below) our world, BOTS takes its cues from the ideas and concepts surrounding our potential near-future such as Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
