i’ve been truly blessed to experience and be shaped by Director Shozin Fukui’s films, and even more fortunate to have gotten to meet and know him and his wife Mami-san, thanks to @vhs_gerorist !
Since 2018, it became a tradition: whenever we were both in Tokyo, we’ll visit him at his TV BAR けむり, have a few drinks, enjoy a bowl of oden prepared by him and just talk about movies and music till closing time
i fondly remember my first time there, he was blasting Slayer and we were chatting about Peter Jackson’s Braindead and Bad taste, it felt right at home
his vision and films might be intense, but he's definitely one of the nicest and kindest person i've met, and i'll forever cherish the kind support he has towards our work
i’m really sad knowing that my future Tokyo trips won’t be the same anymore

IMPETIGO is a band very close to my heart since my gore b-horror film obsessed college self discovered them, a typical day would be watching Lucio Fulci films and listening to their classic album “Horror of the zombies.”
That grimy sleazy atmosphere, the B-movie samples, the gnarly riffs felt right at home for this dumb college kid.
I had the honour of receiving this DVD from Mark 16 years ago, had a few fun online exchanges but i’m really sad we never got to meet.
i’m really going to miss all your legendary throwbacks, see you in the boneyard, Mark !

2 months ago, I played my first Tokyo show at @oriental_love_kaya_takada and didn’t realize the legendary @risaripa_ was standing right in front of me the whole time during my set ~I was too used to seeing her in corpse paint behind the drums 😅🤘🥁
as a Gallhammer fan, I felt incrediblyyyy dumb 🥲… so I had to make amends by coming back 2 months later just to finally meet her properly and witness her show, alongside other insanely eye-opening performers 😭🔥🔥
from self made string instruments to mini megaphone shredding to laser synchronised modular synths and metal pipe grinding assaults ~ @oriental_love_kaya_takada is definitely a special haven where experimental magic happens🤘⚡️⚡️⚡️
