“Saturn Devouring His Son” c. 1819-1823 by Francisco Goya from The Black Paintings collection: interpreted into handwoven small glass beads, approximately a 1”x2” mini tapestry, as small as could be. I used picasso beads for the edges to include a tarnished, painterly look, as well as mixed in olive greens of the same value of Saturn’s skin for enhanced texture and color tone. The blood is comprised of 3 red tones, and his eyes are the truest white for strong contrast in value as well as portrayal of his deranged expression created in mere pixels.
