INTRODUCING OUR SONIC IDENTITY: THE MIC MOGO! 🎶
We are incredibly proud to announce the official launch of the MIC MOGO (Musical Logo), marking a new milestone in our branding journey. Launched at our Annual Day on April 22, 2026, this project sets a benchmark, making us one of the first higher education institutions to establish a dedicated sonic identity.
But what is a MOGO? Simply put, it is a musical logo, a short composition crafted to capture the core identity of an institution using brand archetypes. As an institute dedicated to building creative leaders in media and communication, we believe a strong brand must engage multiple senses, going beyond visuals to include sound.
The idea took shape during a workshop with Mr. Rajeev Raja, founder of BrandMusiq and creator of the term MOGO, known for shaping sonic identities for brands like Zomato and HDFC Bank. We express our sincere gratitude to him.
The project was led by our students
@atmaj_p and
@sthavishtapotti , along with the UNPLGD music club. Our identity was anchored in three archetypes: the Explorer, the Creator, and the Hero reflecting curiosity, creativity, and the drive to execute ideas with confidence.
These archetypes align with our institutional pillars, where creativity and curiosity meet critical thinking. As the team discovered, the essence of MIC lies not in its structures but in its people, their ideas, energy, and community. That is the true brand of MIC. The MOGO captures the magic MICians bring to campus every day.
