Dusting off the deejay wings, a week on Sunday (St David's Day) at @popnhops - AKA Cardiff's premier interesting beer joint, with the very excellent @gareth_d_potter - great tunes, great beers, great times.
The Autumn edition of @gareth_d_potter ’s Esperanza comes to Paradise Garden this evening, this time with an intimate live performance by extra special guest @katellkeineg ✨ followed by a Balearic tinged soundtrack from DJs @lloydofthelongchamps , @mickycranston and Gareth Potter 🌞🍂
It’s free entry with doors open from 5pm and the event kicking off from 6.30pm 🌿
Our wonderful friend @take_me_somewhere_good is throwing a party at Paradise Garden on 27 July in joint celebration… firstly for getting the all clear on his cancer recovery journey ✨💪 and secondly, celebrating the release of ‘Cofio - Recorda - Rememberance’ 🌞 a record which Gareth released earlier this year with the Ibiza based @nunorthernsoul label.
The record, Cofio - Recorda - Rememberance, is by Mallorca’s master guitarist @bibilonijoan and features actors @rhys_ifans_ & Pep Tosar, with production by Jim Barron of @crazypmusic . The release is based on a poem by Waldo Williams, one of the most loved poets in the Welsh language. In Gareth’s words, it’s been “an absolute labour of love, the record has been taken to heart by the Welsh cultural and Balearic music scenes. It is beautiful and inspiring. It’s one of the works that I’m most proud of being part of”.
Our doors will be open all day from 1pm with this event kicking off at 5.30pm, starting early with chilled beats, and bringing in dancefloor energy later into the evening whilst maintaining the balearic soul throughout. Taking over the PG system will be DJs: @lloydofthelongchamps , @bernieville , @mickycranston and of course Gareth. 🌴🔉

Here's something I worked on a while back and is now just seeing the light of day - vinyl artwork for a special release from @nunorthernsoul that celebrates links between Wales and the Balearic Islands (which share the same date for national days of 1st March). The project was cooked up by Gareth Potter AKA @take_me_somewhere_good and @phatphilcooper with musical contributions from Joan Bibiloni, Rhys Ifans, Pep Tosar and James Baron - all based around a poem by Welsh writer Waldo Williams called 'Cofio' (English translation: 'Remembrance'). It's a lovely thing and I'm really pleased to have been part of it. You can pre-order it from the Nu Northern Soul bandcamp page now.
