Back off tour and available for work over the next 6 weeks. If you are looking for anyone to come into your colleges, unis, stage academys etc and talk to and work with students, please get in touch.
So that’s the tour of I, Daniel Blake completed with our final shows @leedsplayhouse . An interesting and challenging tour to say the least ending with three shows and two days where the audiences grew and the energy filled the room. Part of this was fuelled by the local election results. A reaction to some of the horror of the far right gaining in strength.
This play reminds us of how normalised foodbanks have become, how poverty has grown and how those who need help the most have been failed. Failed by the system, billionaires, lobbyists, corruption, corporations. Most of them entitled, posh wankers who make us look the other way whilst they rob us blind. And it’s only going to get worse if all our problems are attached to one issue.
We have to think of our communities and each other. Think of the nhs and our services and way of life. It’s bad now but it could get a whole lot worse.
Thank you to everyone who came to see the play and supported us. IDB 2026.
Monday week ‘Centenary’ @theglasshouseicm is a show celebrating the General Strike of 1926, when workers fought back against the corporate machine.
A night full of song, sketches and comedy. Shows at 4pm and 8pm.
Well I was a bit rubbish with me phone last week (mainly cos I couldn’t get a signal so I went into a huff with it). But what a lovely theatre @thedukeslancaster was, so welcoming and great to see @chrislawsondirector again.
Manchester and @homemcr this week 🥊
