Healthcare Consultant building on my own terms blending: wellness Β· movement Β· style Β· beauty
6 months ago I was let go from my job and took it as a sign to work for myself. The first two months I gave myself permission to breathe. Then i took on the opportunity to work as an independent consultant. This is the part nobody posts about. The financial struggle. The doubt. Losing your identity and purpose in the process.
But the most crucial part of this journey was having a strong support system. Leaning on friends and colleagues who have taken the leap to build something of their own, lent me their time to share their knowledge, or simply been there to listen when I was in the trenches. I genuinely want to thank @ginagraziano__ , who has extended so much of her network and opportunities to make this happen.
Swipe to see what the past 4 months really looked like. π€

1. My parents immigrated to the US from South Korea in their 20s and started a wholesale business thatβs been active for almost 40 years.
2. All throughout elementary and middle school, my family was very poor and I shared a tiny bedroom with my 2 older sisters in a 2 bd apartment in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood while my parents saved up money to buy a home.
3. When i was 15, My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer at the age of 41. She battled Cancer for years and is now in remission.
4. Despite being the Senior Vice President of ASB and on Varsity Dance Team in high school, (at which point my parents bought a home in a predominantly white neighborhood) I tried so hard to fit in because I felt like an outcast and I was often made fun of and discriminated for my race.
5. In College I was in a very abusive relationship and often hid my bruises. To this day I suffer from TMJ and permanent damage in my jaw.
6. After college, I got signed by one of the largest talent agencies and quit my full time job in sales to pursue dance professionally.
7. As a part time job, I started to teach fitness and discovered boxing as a new passion.
8. I knew my calling was in the medical field where I could apply my passion for health, nutrition, and medicine.
9. I broke into the pharmaceutical industry and have been fulfilling my purpose in helping patients and educating physicians.
10. I still coach fitness part time to stress the importance of diet and exercise and to motivate others to practice it as first line therapy.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me π€
