Nana was everything to me: my cheerleader, confidante, kindred spirit, namesake (and Siena Pichiās), Sunday night dinner date, flower girl. Even at 99(!) she was still the liveliest one in the room. Iām beyond grateful to have had this much time with her. She was so proud of her family (she used to joke that she never got any sleep because she stayed up all night praying for everyone) but we were just as proud of her, our queen. Nan, Iāll miss you forever. As you ended all of our conversations: ti voglio bene, loveyouloveyouloveyou š

@matteo914 and @beanieee22 , Iām so grateful to have been part of your big day, one filed with endless love, detail, and imported parm (shoutout to Mattās 20-lb wheel). You guys crushed it, and I couldnāt be happier for you two. Go off, brother and sister! š

This past weekend my mom won the Association of Occupational Therapyās highest honor: The OT Award of Merit. For as long as I can remember, Iāve heard her colleagues and former students use words like ācompassionate mentor,ā āadvocate,ā and ātrailblazerā to describe her. As our mom, sheās all those things to me and @matteo914 ā and so much more. Sheās dedicated, supportive, and hardworking, and sheās easily the most persistent person I know. (See: last summer when, just two weeks after a compound fracture and the subsequent need for a major surgery sent her home early from Sicily, she made a triumphant return to Italy so she could be there for our family vacation.) This award is so well-deserved and we couldnāt be more proud of her.
