"Engineering is more than the technology that we build. It’s about the people we serve, not users and stakeholders or whatever term we use in our design reports, but real people. People who are scared. People who depend on what we make. People whose lives change because of our decisions." - Jacob Robins, BSE CHE '26

"To me, being a Michigan Engineer means carrying technical excellence and human empathy in the same hands. It means knowing that a design is only as strong as the community it serves. It means showing up as your full self, even when that full self doesn't look like the "typical" engineer. Even when your full self is struggling. Even when your full self wants to give up!" - Onyinye Nwankwo-Omoloja, PhD, MS '23, PHD CLASP '26
