It’s here! ‘Popshop Vol. 1’, a brand-new collaborative EP that we’ve been quietly cooking up with a handful of members from the Parcels community!
Featuring: Dagmar Eva, Dani Solognier, The Felina, Human Lemonade, Juice, Raymond Orozco, Staycation, Sunda Blue, Sweet Mila and Yann Dulché x
“We came up with this idea during a chat with some of the Pop Shop members and they were showing us how they collaborated together and remixed the live version of ‘Ifyoucall’ from Red Rocks into a finished track, over a year before the studio version was released. I loved the inspiration and suggested they take other unreleased Parcels tracks from over the years and make their own versions. What’s resulted is a super diverse and creative collection of songs from bands and artists within the fan community. Sometimes the source material was quite scant, just some lyrics without music or a sequence of chords from a live video, so a lot of these are pretty much entirely new compositions which I think is great.
In general, it’s always fascinating how the chains of influences in music tell stories and lead to constantly new ideas being produced. For me, hearing the spirit of early Parcels inspire a bunch of new songs in 2025 is a sweet experiment to witness and it’s touching to see how these new groups of collaborators have been brought together through a shared interest in our band. Huge shoutout to everyone who put this together, I’m very impressed by what’s been made by the Pop Shop here, from the music down to the creative direction and the visuals. Well done guys, and huge shoutout to Lewis and Samantha for coordinating the whole thing like professionals!”
