On our @stellaandchewys set our clients brought in a small crew to shoot some BTS and made this video. We love it and thought it was a great chance to see a bit of how we work. Our crew is usually so busy shooting the task at hand that it can be hard to capture proper BTS, so when they asked about filming us we were more than happy! We are so thankful to be able to work with such great people and love the work we do! #puppylove

On the next episode of āThings I have in my studio that you can have in your lifeā is the Scandifone.
The Scandifone, first released in 2007, is an injection molded acrylonitrile butadiene styrene with a push button dial on the underside that is intended to replicate the Cobra phone, or Ericofon, design by Gƶsta Thames, Hugo Blomberg and Ralph Lysell through the 1940s-1950s.(1)(3) This version is manufactured by Bath, UK based Wild & Wolf.
The Ericfon, was Ericcsonās response to āThe Crouching Dogā by Siemens in 1939. It had managed to integrate a dial and receiver into one, but the design was flawed and kept falling over during testing.(1) Ericcson was able to create this version through the use of thermoplastics and in 1950, they realized the first commercially available telephone to combine a receiver, dial and a microphone in a single unit.(1)
āHanging on the Telephone by Blondieā was released in 1978 and is a cover of The Nerves version released in 1976 and written by Jack Lee.
(More info and a story about procedural memory failure in the comments)

Iāve recently come to a number of conclusions; for the sake of time, Iām only going to get into two. The first is that I appear to have an unwavering curiosity in objects. The second is that I simply have retained too many of them. As a result, I am photographing and parting with many of the things I have accumulated.Ā

It's been about 14 years since I've painted anything. In October of last year I gave myself permission to paint a few things, just to have fun. I made this painting for my sister and her family.
Now she has to live with it forever.
Should I keep going?

Rokin is dodelijk.
This broken butt made it into my life a few years back while hanging out on a rooftop overlooking a great lake.

Seemed like the right time to share this delightful version from the holiday campaign I helped make for @casper with the truly wonderful team @mightyoakgrows
I grew up around bottles of Huy Fong Foods' Sriracha. There was always a partially spent bottle in the fridge door, at eye level, which, in hindsight, was probably a pretty low shelf. That cock would gaze back at me from that red sauce as I reached for the apple juice we made from frozen concentrate. My father put it on many things and loved it on his microwaved eggs. Those eggs left permanent yellow-brown rings on the inside of the white bowls, and I never wanted to use them.
I donāt know when I started using sriracha or what compelled me to try it, but it happened, and as an adult, I, too, put it on many things; those closest to me would argue too many things.
I recently finished this bottle, one in a long line of bottles. As I cleaned it out before it got thrown into the ocean, I appreciated its label design with the tiny drops of water that had accumulated where the sweet sauce once was. Iāve been intrigued by the label since I laid eyes on it, long before I was tempted to try it.
Itās not the first time Iāve attempted imaging a used bottle; my last attempt was in 2020, and that bottle cost $3.89. I donāt know what my next bottle will cost. Iām not entirely up to speed on Mexicoās pepper supply, but I hope the next time I go to the store, there is one at eye level.
All of this is to say that Iāve been thinking about my death, as we all do, and consumption, not the disease; however, one could argue this form is also a disease, and all the things we are sold in the image of its newness, and not the used version we actually know, experienced or enjoyed. This bottle of sweet, spicy deliciousness was relished, and I wanted to photograph it before it joined the plastic island in the ocean.
