Magical. Inspiring. Emotional.
So many words can describe this year’s Ebertfest. It’ll be a weekend I’ll never forget, and my gratitude for the opportunity to honor my hero, Roger Ebert, is boundless.
I can’t for more people to see it. Thank you to the fest, to everyone who attended, to Chaz, to Luke, Kal, Jen, Rob, Kevin, Brett, Charlie, and everyone who worked on this special movie. And thank you, always, Roger.
Today is the day. I get to honor man who gave me so much, who instilled in me a love and appreciation of cinema, in the best way possible: a movie.

Thirteen years after we lost him, Roger Ebert’s voice has never felt more necessary.
We are thrilled to announce THE LAST MOVIE CRITIC, a new documentary written and directed by Luke Boyce and Michael Moreci and produced by Chaz Ebert, Nate Kohn and Shatterglass Films, premiering April 17 at the final Ebertfest at the @thevirginiatheatre in Champaign, IL.
This is not another Roger Ebert biography. It is a manifesto. For cinema, for criticism, for the belief that movies have the power to make us more empathetic, more curious, and more human. Roger said it better than anyone. And in this film, he still does.
And here’s our poster, by the brilliant @smart_elk
