It was a FANTASTIC @StarPartySilverlake last night. Far and away our largest so far. Was a big full moon (for those that like that sort of thing).
Jupiter started the evening off with three moons, then Io poked her head out before the end of the evening so people could see all 4 Gallelean satellites.
A giant thanks to all the people that came out and to all of the @la.astronomical.society members that made this so much fun. It was a great follow on to the 100th anniversary celebration last Saturday night @griffithobservatory .
See you next Thursday for a much more subdued evening.

Every time I’ve seen this section of the movie since I was in a theatre in 1988, and I mean EVERY time, I am overcome by how good of an actor Billy Murray is. It cracks open my chest and makes me feel something during the holidays.

Watched a movie this evening I hadn’t seen in more than 30 years. I do believe it to be the first time Woody Harrison and Wesley Snipes were in a movie.
Didn’t even remember that Jan Hooks was in there. Just after, “Theres no basement in the Alamo”

I swear I was gonna riot if I didn’t see this in the credits. I’m glad they did it as there were so many shots lifted directly from the Wrightson plates.

Growing up in San Diego, I was raised to loath the Dodgers. That will never change, but I have so many friends in Los Angeles that love them. I still cannot for a moment wish them the happiness my team has never had, once.
I do however recognize that this has been a great season of baseball for the entire league with all sorts of twists and turns. GREAT baseball!
