He wasn’t just a name on the brand. CEO Ben Wintner shares how he first met Michael Graves, mid-haircut in his private library, and what that moment revealed about the man behind the brand. What question would you have asked him? #MichaelGraves #MichaelGravesDesign #DesignLegacy #FounderStory #DesignForEveryBody

1999, when we asked a question that changed everything. What if good design was available to everyone? Our partnership with Target brought iconic Michael Graves Design products into stores across the country. That’s when “Design for All” began. A philosophy that never stopped evolving. Do you remember finding Michael Graves Design at Target? We’d love to hear your memory in the comments. #MichaelGravesDesign #Target #DesignForEveryBody #DesignLegacy #TBT

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I like the flexibility of having it be a full use cane as well as folding it up when I need a bit of space. The cane is lightweight but I never worry about it not supporting me. The magnetics used for adjusting the height and folding it is an innovative idea that is refreshing in the world of canes. All and all a well made product that is versatile and definitely a highly recommended find.” — Hayley This is what happens when design works with you, not against you. Real stories. Real people. Real life. That’s Design for Every Body. Get yours today. Link in bio. #michaelgravesdesign #customerstory #designforeverybody #foldingcane #realimpact

Our collection with @PotteryBarn was built to work with your body through every stage, because beautiful furniture should do more than look good. Wishing a happy (almost) Mother’s Day to every mom navigating it all with grace. What is one thing you wish furniture designers thought about more for expecting moms? #MichaelGravesDesign #PotteryBarn #DesignForEveryBody #MothersDay #pregnancysupport

In 1985, an iconic kettle changed everything. When Michael Graves partnered with Alessi to create the 9093 whistling bird kettle, the goal was simple: prove that everyday objects could be beautiful, functional, and full of personality. Over 2 million sold. Still beloved 40 years later. That partnership didn’t just create an icon. It set the foundation for everything we believe about design today. Good design should make you smile every single morning. What everyday object brings you joy just by looking at it? Photo 1: Original sketch by Michael Graves for Alberto Alessi. We designed the wayfinding system at the US Open, and accessibility was never an afterthought. High-contrast signage readable from across a courtyard. A layered information hierarchy that gives you what you need the moment you need it. Mounting heights that work for every body moving through the grounds. No special accommodations. No separate systems. Just thoughtful design that considers the full range of how people see, move, and navigate. That’s what universal design looks like in practice. And honestly? It’s the only way we know how to design. Have you ever been somewhere and thought “whoever designed this really thought of everything”? We’d love to hear it. 👇 #universaldesign #designforall #michaelgravesdesign #inclusivedesign #usopen
