I took a one-day “unpaid internship” with another creative today. 🎨🧡
Most of us look at a gap in our schedule and see a window to catch up on emails or admin. But today, I spent my “free time” showing up for a friend and picking up a paint brush.
I’m not a muralist, but that was the point.
By supporting a peer and playing with a medium I’m not “fluent” in, I found the one thing my to-do list couldn’t give me: A real recharge.🧡
Turns out, the best way to fuel your own expression is to go pour into someone else’s.

Creativity is taking flight in Tallahassee thanks to muralist Michael Crowne. His newest work, “Wings of Continuum,” draws on the spirit of the mockingbird to celebrate the unbroken thread of shared voices, resilience, and community strength.

KCCI along with the project partners announced the seven professional artists selected to create what will become Leon County’s largest outdoor public mural system last week. Each mural piece tells its own special story, and collectively they tell and even more powerful visual narrative.
