My new book, Can’t Get You Out of My Head: In Search of Kylie, is coming out in September! (Out in November in America) She’s available to pre-order and has a beautiful cover that will look iridescent IRL. There are also three different proofs: a Fever one, a Light Years one and a Tension one. Writing this book has been a literal and metaphorical journey, that’s involved winning a signed Kylie candle at the annual Kylie & Dannii day in Melbourne (I also got a Kylie-themed tattoo while I was in Melbourne and it fucking hurt!); seeing Kylie fulfil her Showgirl destiny in Vegas; reciting Kylie lyrics as poetry in Manchester; utilising the gay community to help me track down a porn film that mentions Kylie in order to chat to the director of said opus (who turned out to be an Oscar winner!?); seeing her live in Hyde Park and The O2; and speaking to over sixty people to try and get a sense of how she’s endured in the fickle world of pop for nearly 40 years and why she wanted to put herself through all that. A lovely soft Friday dump. My old film camera went kaput so I got a new one, which I don’t love as much but what can you do. I love list season, I really do. Here are my top 10 albums of 2025, literally from 1 to 10. ROSALÍA has consumed most of my life for the last month or so, but Jade was right there with her this year. My song of the year - the top 20 is listed in slide 11 - is probably a tie between those top two, but there’s something about Model/Actriz’s tale of Cinderella-shaped gay shame that touched me.
