Feeling very grateful to be included in “Pretty Gritty” at The University of Akron’s Emily Davis Gallery. This is my first time displaying photographic work in many moons.
You will also find @polymer330 ’s “Lighter—Than—Air” showing in the gallery directed by @braun.dv along with his poster design work in collaboration with @mike_chinner . It is surreal to see my name amongst such talented folk.
Opening reception tomorrow Thursday March 19 5-7.
Many many thanks to @arnie_photo@melissa_stallard@emily_davis_gallery and everyone else getting this awesome show together.
Super 8 of Jake’s ollies into the plaque for Robert Morris’s Untitled, as seen in Lighter—Than—Air’s Federal section playing over at @theoriesofatlantis ’s YouTube. Installed in 1979, Morris’s sculpture consists of six granite blocks grouped in pairs, each spaced 3.5 inches apart and set by crane. It’s been quietly sitting in the background of clips for decades.

One week out from Lighter—Than—Air. The first skate video to premiere in Akron since 2018. Opportunities to support local skateboarding here don’t come around often, so this one means a lot.
Huge thanks to @nightlightakron for hosting us in their amazing space.

♥️Nicole and I celebrate 9️⃣ years of togetherness today♥️
Heres to many more perspective changing experiences in Europe and everywhere else the road may take us.
Lisbon 2024.
October in the Railroad Earth. A rainy afternoon in Altoona PA, “Railroad City”, where my great grandfather, John Loudon Cohill, was born and raised like his family before him. His mother’s side of the family, the Loudon’s, were one of the oldest families in Altoona, living in the area before the city was established. Today I visited their grave’s for the first time in the city’s oldest cemetery. My great grandfather was named after his grandfather and since then there has been a John Loudon Cohill in every generation of my family. I also visited the house of my great grandfather’s uncle, George Loudon, where John lived after his mother died young.
The Cohill family, like many families, made their way to Akron via the rubber industry. John Loudon Cohill worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber for 40+ years, eventually becoming a vice president after the Second World War. We’ve been here ever since.
