MEET OPIA👁️
Michaela Leon is an actor and storyteller based in Los Angeles. As a child, she turned to film and fictional characters as a form of escape, finding those imagined worlds more exciting and often safer than her own. That early connection sparked a lifelong passion for stories that reveal humanity in its rawest form.
Originally moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in commercial dance, Michaela quickly reconnected with her true calling in acting and went on to study TV and film at AMDA. Her love for theatre comes from its unique ability to capture a character’s full arc in a single, fleeting moment, one that lives on only in memory of those who share the same space at that specific time.
Driven by her passion for storytelling and community, Michaela founded a theatre company dedicated to creating space for emerging artists. After meeting Mary-Clare, the vision found its perfect collaborator, and what began as a small idea grew into what is now Opia Theatre 💫🪐🐞
