Welcome to the world, Baby Brodie. Almost three weeks of the newborn bubble, of sleep deprivation, of life being turned upside down in the loveliest way. Brodie arrived, turning any semblance of birth plan we had on its head. But he’s here safe, healthy and is so incredibly beautiful. I’m trying to making the most of these early days, even when Brodie’s crying, I’m crying, Manuka’s looking at us a little traumatised, and I’m hobbling around trying not to sneeze or laugh too violently. We’re finding our feet, making our way through our batch cooking, badly singing pop punk to Brodie to try and soothe him during the witching hour, taking short wanders out in between the pouring rain, and easing into parenthood. A snippet of favourite moments from the last couple of weeks ♥️ including post-birth takeout pizza - one excellent upside of things not going to plan.

Almost 9 months of growing a little human. I’ve been in my own little quiet bubble of pregnancy since the start of this year, and it’s so strange to think that some time in these next few weeks we’ll finally get to meet this little being that’s been kicking away at my ribs and making it weirdly difficult to get up off of the sofa. I’ve watched every Alien film, eaten at least one grapefruit a day, rediscovered mango sticky rice, and have fully embraced the way my body has been shifting, my mind changing, letting go of what I don’t need and preparing me for a different way of going through life. I am nervous for the future - of what my career will look like, of my sleep schedule, of reshaping my concept of freedom. But I also absolutely cannot wait for this cosy first winter together as a family of four, and to settle into motherhood, and sharing all of it with my favourite person. 🎥 @canonuk 310XL | shot on @kodak_shootfilm 50d | developed by @on8mil #super8 #8mmfilm #pregnancy

Sunny day in Sneachda under a lot of powder, spent the day digging our way up Yukon Jack and decided that it was not as fun as planned when everything was buried and slow going. @rachelsarahm wanted to lead and did the always fun top pitch of Hidden Chimney. #winterclimbing #scottishwinter #cairngorms

An absolutely surreal experience on Rannoch Moor watching the lights dance. I’d settled down for bed, cosy in the duvet watching Drive to Survive in the van when I looked at my phone and had a combination of aurora alerts and frantic WhatsApp messages from @jonathandoylemedia telling me to go outside. I really almost did not get up. But I thought it was worth a look, so opened the van door and literally thought I was hallucinating. I’ve spent the last day or so comparing my own aurora photography to everybody else’s. It’s weird, really - I think there’s this expectation of yourself as a photographer that you should get The Best Photo all of the time but honesty, that’s just so much unnecessary pressure to have on ourselves. And can warp our memories of how beautiful the experience was. So now, I’ve let all that expectation go and I’ve been scrolling, reading and loving everybody else’s aurora stories, and soaking up all the beautiful photography and creativity. (Except I’m still incredibly jealous of whoever was out wild camping on top of Aonach Mor, screw you guys.) Turns out I didn’t need to go to Iceland to see this magical show, and I’m just feeling more and more in love with Scotland the longer I am here. 🎥 @michael.fleming , taken with the Sony 14mm f1.8 from @mpbcom #aurora #auroraborealis #aurorascotland #peopleofadventure #northernlights #northernlightsscotland #northernlightsphotos #staywild #astrophotography #astrophotographer #landscapephotography #auroratimelapse #scotlandtravel #scotlandshots #scotlandhighlands #scottishhighlands #rannochmoor #glencoe

Sunday was pretty spectacular for end of Feb on the west coast of Scotland! Climbed Curved Ridge with @rachelsarahm in glorious weather and amazing views in every direction! Also stepped on what I thought was a rock in a puddle, it was not a rock 🤦🏻‍♂️#scotland #curvedridge

Been up in Scotland for a while climbing around the Coire and seeing queues of people on Aladdin’s Mirror Direct, got on it yesterday with @jonathandoylemedia and @rachelsarahm with the camera. The wind even dropped for us as we were about to climb. Psyched or more! #scottishwinterclimbing #cairngorms #winterclimbing

Last night we settled down for a snooze at 6pm, planning to wake up later in the evening at our last proper chance to catch the northern lights. This time vaguely planning our location instead of just wildly running out and taking a photo from whatever campsite we were parked up in. The skies were forecast to be clear, so we knew we had a chance. 8pm came and went, the sky remained black. 9pm came and we cracked the van door, the faintest of green streaks had appeared across the sky. It wasn’t the brightest sky-filling aurora, but it was a beautiful few hours of seeing it change, disappear, come back again. We shivered and tested out compositions in the pitch black, not really able to see what we were shooting, messing things up, tweaking compositions and focus once the 30 second exposures flashed up on the screen. Eventually, the green faded completely, so we wandered back to the van and sat on the bed eating cheese and crackers at 2am before falling asleep once again. 📸 by both of us, we have no idea who pressed the shutter at any one time. #iceland #northernlights #aurora #landscapephotography #peopleofadventure #jokulsarlonglacierlagoon #sonyalpha #sonyalphafemale
