Here are some sweet moments from our time on Whidbey Island. We took the whole furpack along for for the adventure. Marla hid a lot, Zazu LOVED climbing the beams of the cabin, and the dogs were happy to be wherever we were. I loved waking up early to sit on the porch swing, listening to the sound of silence that I hadn’t heard before. I could feel the buzz of the natural world that is often hidden by concrete in city life. Retreating to spaces with expansive land is always great medicine for my soul. Knowing two women chose to restore this place by hand and heart fills me up even more.
On another note… Two years ago Michael and I went on our first hike together. There has been a lot of growth, change, exploration, resentments, and (most importantly) ✨ forgiveness ✨ along the way... I am grateful for the imperfection, the ebbs and flows, distance and closeness, the necessary grace we chose to uphold… & so much care for the times we forgot how.
We’ve experienced a whole lot of messiness, and so much deep love. It is worth celebrating how far we’ve come, and the journey it took to get there. I love you
