Mic Drop Karaoke opens in West Hollywood on April 23, inside the historic 1922 building on Santa Monica Blvd., the former home of Larrabee Recording Studios, where artists like Carole King and Michael Jackson recorded iconic tracks.
The project reimagines the storied space as a modern, upscale karaoke and nightlife destination, aiming to elevate karaoke in Los Angeles.
Founded by hospitality entrepreneurs Leo and Oliver Kremer, with Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind as an investor, the venue blends a high-energy performance atmosphere with a food and drinks program designed to match.
This isn’t a typical karaoke bar. The two-story, 6,500-square-foot space is built like a concert venue, with concert-level sound, immersive lighting, and a performance-driven main stage featuring lasers, haze machines, and stage monitors.
Upstairs, private studios host smaller groups, while the design mixes Art Deco and ’70s influences.
“It’s not about being cool or pretentious,” Leo says. “It’s all about having fun. And everything we’ve done here is in the service of fun.”
