Thank you to everyone who came to support this cause and to @comedycellarusa for being our venue for this show and donating ALL ticket sales. We could not do this without all the amazing comics, women and men, coming together wanting to see change and a safer comedy community. Our services are NOT just for women, we are here to support everyone including non-binary, trans, men, EVERYONE!❣️ If you are interested in group therapy sessions please sign up to join the next batch via the link in bio.

The Mic Check Movement is working to make comedy spaces safer for all comedians. One of the first things we’re organizing is free group therapy sessions for comedians who have had difficult experiences in comedy spaces and could benefit from support. These sessions are being made possible pro bono through licensed therapists from Soul Wellness NYC. Spots will be limited to keep groups safe and manageable, and additional sessions will follow. If you’re a comedian who would like to participate, please sign up through the link in our bio.

This movement is just getting started. Our goal is to create a place where comics can access mental health and legal resources, and where harmful behavior in comedy spaces is no longer ignored. This movement is not just for women. It is for all comedians, including trans, nonbinary, and BIPOC performers, who are often disproportionately targeted in comedy and nightlife spaces. If you are interested in group therapy or legal support, please fill out the Google survey in our bio. We are working to organize group therapy, legal consultations, and tools that help protect comedians and help keep our community safe. A healthier comedy scene protects everyone.
