i wove this rug with scavenged wool yarn remnants a bit over a year ago. i’ve been using it as an inside doormat ever since. i love how the fibers have bloomed and blended together with dirt and stories. bonus points: my girls can enjoy it as much as i do

Lint is not quite nothing; it still might be retrieved for further purpose before oblivion and rebirth. Not (fer) Nothin offers works from artists who each in their way employ a salvage mentality, gleaning materials slated for decay and refashioning them into missives on metabolic processes and the possibilities of regeneration.” —Rachel Elizabeth Jones @ratbabyjones 📷: @robben_munoz

i was commissioned to repair this Moroccan kilim rug ! it was damaged by a dog, then put into storage where it endured moth damage. the moth damage was cwazy !! some of the original blue weft threads dyed the warp, which made some of the repairs look interesting. i kept all stable warp threads for structural integrity. this was fun ! i didn’t use a thimble haha 😌
