We are very pleased to announce the godmother of the 4th edition of the Ecodesign Art Prize (Prix Art Écoconception): Minerva Cuevas.
@micadust
Born in 1975 in Mexico, where she lives and works, Minerva Cuevas is a leading figure in environmentally-conscious art.
Environmental issues became part of her work through her involvement in social causes, “as she observed social crises in rural areas that were rich in natural resources while suffering from extreme poverty and repression” (interview with Art of Change 21, 2020).
Through objects and images of everyday consumption, Cuevas encourages us to rethink the role corporations play in the exploitation of natural resources and in the conditions of social inequality around the world.
Art of Change 21 is honoured to collaborate once again with Minerva Cuevas, who previously participated in our 2017 « Conclave” global gathering on the climate emergency, as well as in the United Artists for Climate campaign for COP30 in 2025.
She is represented by the
@kurimanzutto and is currently exhibiting at MASP (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in “Minerva Cuevas: social ecology”.
The Art of Change 21 Ecodesign Art Prize (Prix Art Écoconception) is the world’s first initiative to train contemporary artists in reducing their environmental impact, in partnership with
@palaisdetokyo .
The call for applications is open until May 3rd! (Understanding French is a required criteria).
