Exploring materiality for a rear extension project in East London 🧱
Testing green vertical tiles, warm terracotta clay and sculptural ribbed facades to create a vibrant and tactile addition that is both modern and complementary to the existing brick facade of the main dwelling.

Spring settling in at Billericay 🍃
Lovely to see this project evolve from concept, through construction on site, to a fully realised building now in use, captured from the garden looking towards the new pool house.
Nestled within its landscape, House within the Woods provides a considered amenity for the pool, with the outbuilding forming a distinctive backdrop to the wider landscaping and pool design by Philip Nash Design.
A pool house grounded in its setting, defined by charred timber cladding and a subtle presence, thoughtfully designed to evolve with the seasons.

A carefully considered proposal for a new dwelling in Reigate, designed as a calm, grounded form within the landscape.
The design is low in profile and carefully positioned to capture long views across the site while maintaining privacy and distance from the existing house.
These primary elevation studies explore how form and materiality can complement the natural tones and textures of the site, allowing the building to integrate harmoniously with its surroundings.

Capturing moments of our latest site visit in Reigate.
This quiet, semi-rural site is defined by open clearings, mature trees, and long views across a varied landscape.
The proposal focuses on simplifying the existing arrangement by removing visual clutter and establishing a clearer, more cohesive relationship between the built form and its surroundings.
Excited to see the design take shape! 🌿

One of the key drivers of this residential project in Colchester is achieving a thoughtful balance between heritage and contemporary design. Drawing from the architectural language of the original 1962 home, warm timber, stone, and textured surfaces continue to define the principal elevations.
The design thoughtfully responds to its context, preserving key architectural motifs while reimagining them for contemporary living.
1 — Front elevation illustration highlighting the vertical language of the new facade, expressed through a balanced composition of vertically laid textures.
2 — Facade render capturing the materiality of the design, reinforcing the warmth of the original home through textured tiles, timber, and dogtooth articulation to break down the building’s width.
3 — Key elevation drawings of the original 1962 residence, showing principal facades finished in natural pine, concrete, and white lime render. This vertical rhythm is reinterpreted in the new design, retaining the character of the original facades.
