Miami World Cup Mural - “It’s Okay To Be Great” Energy hit the 1400 block between Washington & Collins, and within minutes, it was clear: the world is welcome here. Fans from across the globe are already stopping, capturing photos, videos, and moments, stepping into something bigger than themselves. I wanted this mural to bring that feeling into real life, where anyone can step in and feel part of the game.” Troy E. Special thanks to Gabriel Sant, President of the International Youth Institute, for visiting Washington Avenue with the Official FIFA World Cup soccer ball signed by the FIFA President for the World Youth Forum. Captured in front of the “It’s Okay To Be Great” mural on 14th Street between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue, this moment reflects the growing global energy building around Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, and the future of the World Cup experience in South Florida. Washington Avenue BID welcomes Naked Tomato. Renowned Chef Eyal Shani Opens Naked Tomato on Washington Avenue A new culinary concept has arrived on Washington Avenue. Globally recognized chef Eyal Shani—the force behind HaSalon and more than 50 restaurants worldwide—has opened Naked Tomato at the Moxy South Beach. The restaurant takes over the former Como Como space, most recently used as an event venue, and introduces a concept rooted in simplicity and precision. Despite its name, “Naked Tomato” is not about presentation—it’s about philosophy. Shani describes it as a commitment to stripping away excess and focusing entirely on the ingredient. The approach demands selecting the highest-quality products, understanding their character, and guiding them to their purest form. In his words, it is “high-risk creation… it is purity.” What to Expect The menu blends new creations with signature dishes from Shani’s global portfolio, spanning cities like New York, Tel Aviv, Paris, and London. Guests can expect: Roasted eggplant, Moroccan salad, and classic spreads like hummus, babaganoush, and labneh Israeli-style skewers (shipudim), including wild mushrooms, shrimp, harissa chicken, and lamb kebab Larger plates such as fresh catch of the day, tomahawk steak, and chicken schnitzel The space, designed by Jacob Turgeman Design, also features a full bar, reinforcing its position as both a dining and social destination. Washington Avenue Continues to Evolve The arrival of Naked Tomato adds to the growing mix of internationally recognized chefs and elevated dining experiences shaping Washington Avenue. Shani, who first launched HaSalon in Tel Aviv in 2008 and expanded globally, continues to deepen his presence in Miami Beach—further positioning the corridor as a destination for culinary innovation and global influence. #washavebid #nakedtomatoes
