At this year’s IWC in London, the 2023 Tolpuddle Vineyard wines were recognised with six trophies – among them Best Australian White, Best Australian Red, and, then the icing on the cake, Championship White across all countries for the Chardonnay. Congratulations to @a.wadewitz and the whole team. The ongoing success of Tolpuddle Vineyard continues to be one of the most exciting chapters of my wine life. @tolpuddlevineyard

Brilliant news from Wine Paris, where the great James Halliday AM has won the Institue of Masters of Wine Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is voted on by the full MW brethren, which makes it even more special. James has been part of our wine lives for over 55 years, as writer, critic, wine producer, judge, and mentor to a generation of young wine professionals. James is a vinous polymath with an amazing palate, an unexpected impish sense of humour and tireless work ethic. I have judged with some of the most famous names in wine, but few have come close to James in terms of his deep understanding of wine quality and style. His almost fanatical enthusiasm for every facet of fine wine is both extraordinary and inspirational. Congratulations James from all of us who prize your friendship and legacy.
