Eagle-eyed visitors to the Museum these past few weeks might have noticed a colourful flock of feathered friends have come to roost in our reception. With our Creative Minds colleagues we've been asking visitors, staff and service users to create fantastical birds to add to our Flock Together exhibition.
Come along and let your imagination soar by creating your own bird to add to the flock. Our craft activities are free and open to everyone whenever the Museum is open. Call 01924 316360 or email [email protected] to find out more.

Today we officially had our youngest visitor ever when 9-day old Harry and his dad came to see us. We hope Harry's first museum visit inspires a life-long love of heritage. Thank you Harry and Harry's dad for making today completely gorgeous, what a star! ⭐️💙⭐️

Last year we had the pleasure of welcoming @heartofyorkshireeducationgroup Level 4 Art & Design students for a visit to the Museum. Following this visit through research skill development and reflection the students produced a series of deeply personal 10x10cm mixed media pieces.
These collaboratively curated pieces can now be seen on display here at the Mental Health Museum until the end of May.
We're free to visit and everyone is welcome. Come and see us Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 1-4pm or call 01924 316360 for more information.

Charles Waterton had a connection with the West Riding Asylum. A strong believer in the power of nature, Charles invited patients to Waterton Hall for an annual picnic.
