5 years ago today changed my life forever ⚫️⚫️⚫️
It started the night before with a text, reminding my kids of curfew because we had a BIG DAY tomorrow. I had no idea how big…
Saturday was filled with kids’ sports. At 1:35 pm, keeping score for Landry’s softball game, my heart stopped without warning. I felt no pain. I was dead… cardiac arrest.
God literally used the skills of Lauren and the hands of Will, Chris, and Tom to keep blood moving through my body.
Next memory: an EMT asking, “Can you hear me? What is your name?” “Mark.” “You are going to be fine. You’ve been dead for 17 minutes and now you’re back.”
Maurie and I have three little dots tattooed on our wrists—an ellipsis, meaning there is more to come. Every day I’m thankful for my ⚫️⚫️⚫️
The 1st ⚫️ represents 1,825 days God has blessed me with since. We celebrated Christmas in a beautiful country, went to the Super Bowl, watched the NYE ball drop, rocked a Metallica mosh pit, skied, and celebrated 20 years of marriage with my best friend. It’s brought 1,000s of memories, and a few hard ones. Yesterday was the hardest, as we gathered to celebrate the dots of an amazing woman and good friend. Your dots will be in our hearts forever.
The 2nd ⚫️ represents today. Celebrating Gunnar this morning as he graduates, designing a super cool house for a great family, an interview for a new project, then making hotdogs for the spring game. Gunnar, have fun at PBR tonight and drive safe! Landry, remember your curfew, and maybe pick me up Andy’s on your way home :)
The 3rd ⚫️ represents tomorrow. I can’t wait to watch Gunnar walk the stage next week, and we’re going to roll so much tide together next fall! A father’s goal is to make his son better than he is; you’ve become something greater than I could have imagined. Landry, you’re the most intelligent, driven person I know. You are going to crush this world! Maurie, my best friend, I love doing life with you. I promise for our 25th we’ll go somewhere fun!
I’ll take today’s dot, add it to the 1,825 in the bag, and pray for another. I’m just happy with more of the same…. I could not earn it, I don’t deserve it, still you give yourself away ⚫️⚫️⚫️
“It’s impossibe.” Not to us! This client had a dream and we made it happen. We used this mega lot to build two houses to make the dreams of our homeowners happen.

Sometimes the best design move is keeping things simple. 🤍
Clean lines, warm wood, and a space that just feels good.

The finished project reflects the collaboration between design, craftsmanship, and thoughtful execution. Seeing the vision fully realized is always the most rewarding stage of the process.
Can’t wait to show you more!

Is it a bridge from one wing to another? Yes- kind of. Does it also have curb appeal that makes you slow down when driving by? Yes- absolutely. Clean lines, balanced materials, and a front entry that sets the tone for the entire home. Some houses just know how to make an entrance. ✨
