My time spent as a Ranger in the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument was the most formative time of my life. Interpreting in the very place where I learned to fish not only made me appreciate the hobby and communities built around public lands, but the importance of sharing and preserving what we have so all of us have the opportunity to experience the outdoors. While the monument itself isnât for sale, the land surrounding it is. 90% of outdoorsmen in the west will tell you that hunting and fishing doesnât happen on monuments and in parks, it happens on public lands that exists for our use and the preservation of our natural resources.
