Rod Puppet Tail Test for the Film
“Vil et Misérable”
for “Avatar Fx”, at this stage we weren’t sure how long the tail needed to be, but it was a good proof of concept
The tail ended up being half the size and less cumbersome, but its not as easy to do this, whilst lying on the floor or with one hand!

Having fun learning flexible metal painting techniques for Avatar Fx
For reference the original is middle Left
The first (left) is flexible urethane for safely throwing on set
middle right is "Feather lite" for attaching to the actor
the last was polyfoam for potential physical contact (unused)
I managed to keep the brushed metal texture of the steel (and stamp) and added a little weathering
The second pic shows the prosthetic wraparound it was attached to, (created by Avatar fX) which I modified slightly with some scratch build wounds

I Had the pleasure of running some prosthetics for Nina @antonfx.studio
There were Multiple effects for this short film, cut throat blood rig, Crucified wrists & ankles
I also mechanized the fingers and ankle
so we could puppeteer them on set
Paint jobs and sculpts by Nina
we also lifecast the actor and made the necessary moulds, lots of work in little time!
