It’s with a heavy heart that I would like to share with our community that my beautiful friend, mentor and teacher has passed. It happened Friday. I’m still processing the shock as this was sudden and unexpected. I met Don Francis when I was 16 and joined the Jingles School of Advanced Hair Training in London as an apprentice. Don was the artistic director, a great talent and an inspiration. He taught me how to cut, set hair, color, perm and anything else you can think of. Basically how to be a professional in the business. As my career progressed and I became a department head he joined my team, always wanting to be in the background and always wanting me to look the best I could. He taught me how to lead with kindness and to share my knowledge and wanted the best for everyone he worked alongside with. He was always happy for other people’s successes and encouraged us all. Don always had a smile and kind, positive words for everyone on set. He was truly happy when on the job.
I will miss his advice and pep talks. He kept me going through some tough personal times so I could come to work and do my best. I truly believe Don was a light and an inspiration. I feel so blessed to have known him.
He will be missed.
Rest in peace my friend.
I promise to keep up with my roots!
I love you.❤️
